Fix for STK600 32 kHz oscillator

Some STK600s manufactured before July 10, 2008 have a 32 KHz oscillator running too fast (later production batches are OK).
The manufacturing date is found on the sticker on the bottom of STK600.
The oscillator frequency is easily fixed by replacing one capacitor.

See this page for more information and a document describing the solution.

Ultra-light event-driven framework/RTOS for AVR

QP is a family of ultra-light, open source, state machine-based frameworks for embedded systems. QP enables developing well-structured applications as a set of concurrently executing hierarchical state machines (UML statecharts). With QP, coding of modern state machines directly in C or C++ is a non-issue and no big design automation tools are needed.

New mega644p-based integrated, socketable Microcontroller

Oak Micros introduces the om644p, an integrated microcontroller device based on the new mega644p from Atmel. It is packaged as a socketable 40 pin DIL carrier board that can be used either in a breadboard or your own circuit.
The om644p has everything you need to get started with AVR programming without requiring an ISP or JTAG programmer. It has a built-in RS232 interface, boot loader, 5V regulator, and two I/O port monitoring LEDs. The software download package includes example programs, source code for the boot loader, and Windows command line and GUI tools for automated downloading of your program. A complete User Guide and Reference is also available.
Other devices from Oak Micros include the om128 which shares many attributes with the om644p but uses a mega128 and has a 64K RAM daughter board.
If you are not familiar with C programming then our ZBasic series of devices can provide an even faster start to programming microcontrollers using a Visual BASIC compatible language. The ZBasic platform includes integrated tooling (IDE, compiler, downloader) and a very extensive library of general purpose and device I/O functions.
